Jingjing Chen successfully defended his PhD thesis, which was presented at the University of Lausanne UNIL on February 7th, 2018. His thesis title was “Molecular and metabolic characterization of mitochondria mediated tumourigenesis in prostate cancer” which summarizes the results of genetic mechanisms that lead to dysregulated de novo lipid synthesis for tumorigenesis in prostate cancer carried out at the Molecular Oncology unit directed by Prof. Andrea Alimonti at the Institute of Oncology Research, in Bellinzona, (CH). The discovery of his Ph.D. thesis has been awarded as best publication (ages 35-45) in la Ottava Giornata della Ricerca Clinica della Svizzera Italiana.
His PhD committee was composed by jury president: Prof. Acha-Orbea Hans, Professor of the University of Lausanne UNIL, Ph.D. thesis director: Prof. Andrea Alimonti of the Institute of Oncology Research, in Bellinzona, (CH), while his external examiners were Prof. Elisa Oricchio from Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC), Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, and Prof. Fabio Grassi from the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, in Bellinzona (CH).
Jingjing received the “PhD in Cancer and Immunology” at the University of Lausanne UNIL.
