The IOR Genomic Facility is seeking a RESEARCH ASSISTANT with a background in molecular biology, genetics or genomics.
The candidate must be highly motivated with a personal interest in cancer research and a specific interest in genomic research.
The candidate must be able to work on multiple projects and independently organize their work. Good management and interpersonal skills along with ability to interact with many collaborators and, at times, work under strict deadlines are required. The candidate will be proficient in a wide range of contemporary molecular biology techniques, including high-throughput sequencing of DNA, RNA, DNA/RNA methylation, ChIP-sequencing, single cell genomics, genome CRISPR/Cas9 and similar approaches Prior experience with basic bioinformatics and computational biology would be a plus.
The ideal candidate should be willing to learn new methods. At the IOR the candidate will have the opportunity to broaden his skills and will be an active part in the buildup of an exciting lymphoma research project recently started in our lab.
The IOR established in 2003 in Bellinzona, Switzerland, hosts researchers from all over the world performing basic and translational research in oncology with special focus on cancer biology, genomics, molecular oncology and therapeutics.
The IOR is affiliated to USI – Università della Svizzera italiana and other leading Swiss Universities and Research Centers.

English is the official language. The salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
