The Lymphoma Genomics Group headed by Prof. Francesco Bertoni at the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) is
seeking a PhD STUDENT to study the biological role of enhancer RNAs in lymphomas.

The candidate must have a BSc or equivalent degree with knowledge of ncRNAs, and lymphoma cell biology.
Candidates must possess laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology techniques.
Experience with high throughput data analysis and skills in Unix, python, R, Matlab or similar are advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of English, good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
The successful applicants will join a young, competitive group with an excellent publication record. The Lymphoma
Genomics Group has strong expertise in studying genomic and epigenetic alterations and in novel drug development
for lymphoid tumors.

The lOR is affiliated to the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Università della Svizzera italiana and linked to the Oncology
Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI), the comprehensive cancer center in Bellinzona and one of the world referral
centers for lymphomas. lOR is also institutional member of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB).
The IOR laboratory is located inside the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB), whose focus on immunology
research allows collaborations on normal and neoplastic B and T cells.
The group projects are usually run in the context of international collaborations, allowing and requiring interactions with
colleagues from different countries.

Where: Bellinzona, the capital of Ticino, the scenic southern part of Switzerland.
When: the position is available starting from November 2020.
English is the official language.
