Mission statement

At IOR we believe that science is constantly evolving to improve our understanding of human cancer. Our curiosity and resources are directed towards this challenge, with a commitment to discovering practical and far-reaching solutions to a disease that still impacts on the everyday life of people around the world. Our Institute embraces three mission objectives:

  1. Basic and translational research to advance knowledge in the areas of cancer biology, genomics and therapy;
  2. Education and training of young researchers to foster training in cancer research of undergraduate, doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows;
  3. Transfer of knowledge and technologies to guarantee the dissemination of research results within the scientific world, industry and the general public.
